This type of behavior is nothing new, but each time I'm around them when they are among each other I feel like I'm back in a place where I don't want to be. Example: dude sits in class talking about how this is college and not high school, he shouldn't have to be early to class and is frustrated cuz he can't wear his hat...All this because his coach told him different. I can't count how many times the word N***a came out his mouth....Im not sayin anyone is perfect and no one around me uses it (clearly not that much), but damn dude, represent yourself in a better way. Its just sad to see a bunch of young guys who think that the scholarship that they got and activities they do is all that counts.....
17 days left til graduation.....LU is going down in flames....you think they were scared before....oh you just wait....

I will attempt to explain and I guess rant a bit about this situation, I've been thinking the same thing as well. It will be spotty and unorganized and I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but these are the things that I've seen and what I've been through and the way the other schools do things. Here it goes................
It's unfortunate that it has come to this but the problem here is not the players, it's the system that was created around them. This system was supposed to help those in need and/or with a certain talent another way of getting a college education but what it has done is created a type of entitlement where some of these collegiate athletes don't understand what's in front of them. They can't see that the tables are not turned in their favor and nothing is promised to them but a few years of free room and board and a spot in a classroom that can be filled by another body with a pulse if they don't decide to change the cycle of athletic prostitution. It is hard to explain to some what appropriate behavior entails in a classroom if they have no idea what the notion means. The whole system is corrupt. Everyone has a part in this. From the family to their kindergarten teachers.
This school wants to be a big time school so bad that they're skipping a lot of steps to become ready for some of the athletes that it may encounter at this level. There is a growing process that all schools must go through to get to that special place that LU once thought they were. This school is not equipped to handle sports at this time. Although they think the are, they are not. But really if you look at what happened in the past, that's the reason the school was in the predicament it was in the first place. As we all know old habits die hard. The school is wrong for putting people in the position to fail, but who's fault is it if your hungry and some one puts food on your plate to eat instead you decide it's not your type of food............................
